ION has built servers – general purpose servers, storage servers, compute servers and compute nodes – for over 20 years. Along the way, we have learned a few things on those subjects. Our philosophy has always been to “Keep learning!”, so we will share not just old observations, but new lessons and interesting outcomes as we continue to move forward.
ION has invested considerable research and development in this decade into the topics of solid state drives (SSDs) and, more specifically, SSD RAID and all-SSD servers. This blog will include some insights gained along the way, as well as new SSD servers and benchmark results and success stories.
